Puyallup residents do not have to wait any longer – Golden Corral has finally opened.
Golden Corral franchise owner Anthony Wang said the opening will be Wednesday at the South Hill Mall along South Meridian. It was August 2017 when news first broke about the restaurant’s arrival to the town.
However, the process to renovate the site from the Old Country Buffet has been tedious.
Golden Corral, which specializes in offering American food with the all-you-can-eat concept services fried chicken, meatloaf, pot roast, rotisserie chicken and steak along with numerous other things.
South Hill Mall Leasing Vice President Joe Corsell said since the first announcement, there’s been a lot of speculation of when the buffet would be open. Corsell said he’s never seen the likes of people asking for a restaurant before like they have been for Golden Corral.
South Hill Mall announced the opening through social media Monday, but there was some minute certificate of occupancy details that had to be carried out first. And, with those done, the Raleigh-based restaurant, with multiple locations throughout the nation, is open for business.
The
restaurant also offers a to-go option with 150 choices on its buffet
and offers a party/banquet room for people to use.
