Celebrating
its 50th
anniversary, the Habit Burger Restaurants is going to help 20
deserving higher-education students achieve their goals. The company
is given the students scholarships, but applications must be
submitted by Oct. 31 to be eligible for the $2,500 scholarship.
Scholarship
awards will be handed out between Nov. 15 and Dec. 15 at a local
Habit Burger restaurant.
Habit
Burger Grill Director of Marketing Charlotte Lucich said the Habit
crew feels they should help take care of the local community, and
with their 50th
anniversary year, they wanted to offer a little more “attention to
the next generation.” She said providing the scholarships is an
investment in the future of both – to foster the growth of future
community leaders.
Those
interested in applying for the scholarship must submit a 60-second
video or write a 250-word essay, explaining what their educational
and career goals are and how the scholarship assists them in being a
positive influence in their community. They will also need to turn
in a “Habit selfie” showing as much they like The Habit Burger
Grill.
Lucich
said a picture is worth a thousand words, and they can’t wait to
see the creativity of their applicants.
The
company is constantly proving itself that its loyalty goes beyond the
local communities of where the 265 restaurants are located.
The
Habit first started with burgers but now includes grilled sandwiches,
fresh chicken, grilled tri-tip and sushi-grade ahi tuna. Its sides
also include French fries, sweet potato fries and onion rings.
Guests can also check out the complimentary condiment bar filled with
lemons, limes, peppers and sauces.
The Habit first opened in 1969 in Santa Barbara, Calif., and has grown to more than 265 restaurants in 12 states such as Arizona, Florida, North Carolina, Utah, Virginia and many others. It also has six locations outside the U.S.
