The
holiday menu at Starbucks is now available with four new cup designs
for coffee drinkers to celebrate the season.
The Seattle-based coffee company 2019 holiday menu kicked off Nov. 7.
Customers
can get four choices of cups:
- Polka Dots cup (red cup with green polka dots)
- Merry Dance (white cup with “Merry Coffe” words on it)
- Merry Stripes (vertical text replicating the green vintage wrapping paper)
- Candy Cane Strip (candy cane cup with Starbucks logo)
Every
cup design is a representation of wrapping paper, which Starbucks
said was done on purpose. They wanted customers to feel as if they
were unwrapping a present.
Starbucks
Creative Jen Quotson said they wanted the typography to be art and
the green dot for the Starbucks logo. She said they wanted to come
across as something that represented both the brand and the holiday.
In celebration of the launch, the chain gave away limited-edition reusable cups with the words “Merry” and “Coffee” on them. The cups were only available until supplies ran out.
The
cup is not just eco-friendly, but customers can save money. From Nov.
7 to Jan. 7, customers will get 50 cents off any grande holiday
beverage.
The
holiday menu line will include the following beverages:
- Caramel Brulee Latte
- Chestnut Praline Latte
- Eggnog Latte
- Peppermint Mocha
- Toasted White Chocolate Mocha
However,
last year’s Gingerbread Latte was not brought back to the lineup,
which did not make some Starbucks folks happy.
Seasonal foods that were introduced include:
- Gingerbread loaf
- Sugarplum Danish
- Turkey and stuffing panini
