Chick-fil-A Does Research To Find Suitable Vegan Fare For Its Menu

Chick-fil-A, along with other restaurant chains, has come up with several vegetarian and vegan menu options for those who are following the diet.

The company already had a number of these options on its sides and salads menu, but the company is looking at beefing up the menu with more meatless options.

Chick-fil-A menu executive director Amanda Norris said the chain has done a lot of research on vegan, meat-free options for years – to understand better what customers would like to see on its menu. She said it’s not just about offerings salads or no meat wraps, but some type of alternative protein on the sandwich.

The chain’s Spicy Southwest Salad is a vegan option if ordered without the cheese and chicken, and its creamy salad dressing can be substituted with Chili-Lime Vinaigrette. Two other potential vegan options are the Grilled Market Salad and Grilled Chicken Cool Wrap when there is no cheese or chicken on it. The waffle fries and fruit cup are also vegan foods.

However, the company knows that vegetarians and vegans would like more options than the sides and substitute options.

Although Chick-fil-A is just now testing its vegan options, fast food chains like Burger King have already been testing their options. For instance, the Impossible Burger is Burger King’s answer to the vegan diet. McDonald’s is testing a vegan burger overseas.

How Chick-fil-A, which has no burgers on the menu, is going to offer vegan fare will be interesting no doubt. Still, it’s likely they’ll come up with something.
