Celebrity Food Network Chef Opening New Restaurant In Oklahoma

Guy Fieri, celebrity chef of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives of the Food Network, will open a restaurant in Durant, Okla in April. The restaurant will be called Guy Fieri’s American Kitchen + Bar and be located in the Choctaw Casino and Resort.

The casino is roughly 95 miles northeast of Dallas and a popular spot for many North Texans.

Fieri is well-known for bringing his Flavortown brand to the area. In 2015, Fieri opened the Guy’s Burger Joint at Dos Equis Pavilion in Dallas, which is already closed. In 2018, he came up with and opened the Guy Fieri’s Taco Joint, located at Texas Live, which is an entertainment venue in Arlington. This restaurant is still open.

Fieri’s producers on the Food Network Triple D Nation checked back on the Cane Rosso pizza joint.

Needless to say, Fieri has a big following with North Texans.

Fieri said he’s shot Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives throughout Oklahoma and Texas, which knows great food.

The Choctaw Casino American Kitchen will be able to accommodate 275 people, serving burgers, wings, tacos and more.

Fieri has nine restaurants under the name.

In 2017, Guy Fieri’s American Kitchen + Bar shut down in New York City. Peter Wells, a famous New York Times critic, wrote a review about the restaurant in 2012 with many of the phrases were questions about what the restaurant really was. After it shut down in 2018, the Washington Post wrote that it was cartoonish and often mocked more than any other restaurant in the nation.

Choctaw’s director of marketing said the upcoming Fieri restaurant is a great addition to the area. Choctaw is home to arcades, bowling, a movie theater and convention space as well as a hotel and casino. Other restaurants in the Choctaw building are Smashburger, Mason Jar Bar, Bamboo Noodle Bar and Papa John’s Pizza.
